Private Moment made Public, and a Fatal Jump

I read that in Rutger's University the two roomates of Tyler Clementi were playing a prank on him. They set up a webcam to video tape their roomate (tyler) in his "private moment". They posted it up on the internet. What ame out to be as a prank ended up into Tyler Clementis suicide. He jumped off a bridge into the river in New York City. The roomates Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei both gor charged with invasion of privacy meaning five years in jail.

Shortage on Lethal injection.

There are 35 states that use the lethal injection, sodium thiopental, which is a drug that makes the prisoner go unconscious before they die. Lately the states Kentucky and Oklahoma have had to delay the signing of death warrants due to the decreasing amounts of the substance. Arizona has had to look for the substance beforehand in order to go through with the sentence. Washington and Ohio use big amounts of the drugs to carry out the procedure. Due to the lack of the drug, there is a total of 17 executions that are scheduled before the end of Janurary. The company that produces the drug is named Hospira, which is in Illinois. They blame the drug shortage on their supplierof raw materials. They say "We are working to get it back onto the market for our customers as soon as possible." However the earliest they can is Janurary. Using other drugs would not be an option due to lengthy court preecidings.

Legendary QB Hall of Famer Dies

George Blanda, a Hall of Fame quarterback in the NFL died Monday at the age of 83. It was reported that he died of a brief illness.

In his career he played for 10 seasons with the Bears, part of one with the Baltimore Colts, 7 with the Houston Oilers and his final 9 with the Raiders before finally retiring before the 1976 season. He held the pro scoring record when he retired, with 2,002 points. He kicked 335 field goals and 943 extra points, running for 9 touchdowns and throwing for 236 more. He also threw for 26,920 yards in his career.

He won the AFL Player of the Year in 1961, the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year in 1970, and led the Oilers to there first 2 AFL titles. These were just a few of his many accomplishments in the NFL during his 26 year career.

Before reading this article I had no clue who this man was. I'm glad I know now, he held many records and accomplished so many things. He did this all for the love of the game and with none of the performance enhancers that tarnish the names of many great athletes today. How do you think sports enhancers have affected sports??

No More Counting Sheep!

According to recent studies, people suffering from insomnia, a condition that prevents a person from sleeping, are cured by just one hour of exercise! Scientists don't know why exercise helps people go to sleep or keep from waking up in the middle of the night, but they find it quite effective. More exercise actually helps a person get as much sleep as they need. Experts ran a series of tests on women the ages 55 and older who had trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep. They had each woman preform the same daily exercise and the results showed that their insomnia was cured. Scientists also had the women go to museums, take cooking classes, and take part in a Tai Chi class, however, the results seemed to be less dramatic as aerobic exercises. It was also proven that an hour of exercise is better than an extra hour of sleep! So next time you are laying in bed counting sheep, try taking a quick jog around the block instead.

It's a sailboat! It's a Ship! It's a......Whale Surfer???

Thats right ladies and gentlemen. Some genius in Australia decided to ride a whale the other day and someone caught it on camera! However amazing this might be, the officials down under are in uproar! Why? I ask myself the same question, but the copperoos make a good point. The whales that like chilling in Australia can reach a length of 18 meters and a weight of 80 tons. So, if you get slapped by the tail because you're messing with their groove, you are most likely going to die a fool who got killed by a high five from a whale. The whale that this daring person rode was about 20 meters, or 66 feet long. The genius that caught it on camera however, was not able to get his brilliant photography out there because this is apparently going to become an investigation. Whales are actually very sensitive and gentle creatures. People are fined almost $10,000 if they get closer than 100 feet of the whales, mostly because the whales are sensitive and may be distressed, but also because it is dangerous for the Einstein that decides to ride it.

I personally am a big fan of animals, especially our whale friends, and these actions may frighten or alarm the whale, but these police are just a tad exaggerated. I'm sure a simple warning to others not to do the same should suffice, but an investigation? As Ms. Hatfield would say, really? Well, its not like they have anything better to do, besides chasing kangaroos. Any opinions my fellow classmates?

Legendary QB George Blanda dies at 83

George Blanda played longer than anyone in pro football history and ranked the most points in a career spanned for decades. He played with the Chicago Bears and the Oklahoma Raider. Blanda entered the NFL out of Kentucky as a 12th round pick of the Chicago Bears in 1949. His playing time as a quarterback quickly diminished and he retired at the age of 49.Unfortunately this great man passed away this Monday at the age of 83 where his career finally came to an end for good. With his amazing performances Blanda inspired millions of fans over a 26-year career. He will be truly missed.

Longer School Hours???

Barely into the new school year, President Barack Obama issued a tough-love message to students and teachers on Monday: Their year in the classroom should be longer, and poorly performing teachers should get out.

American students are falling behind some of their foreign counterparts, especially in math and science, and that's got to change, Obama said. Seeking to revive a sense of urgency that education reform may have lost amid the recession's focus on the economy, Obama declared that the future of the country is at stake.

"Whether jobs are created here, high-end jobs that support families and support the future of the American people, is going to depend on whether or not we can do something about these schools," the president said in an interview on NBC's "Today" show.

I agree that students maybe falling behind and we should do something about it but I'm not sure if I agree with longer school hours.
As I browsered the web, I came across a very intresting headline called "Yes, these 911 calls are real". Right away I knew these calls would be bizarre. I clicked it and watched the news video with the recording. The first one seemed to be about a man who seemed to be disturbing locals, until he decided to call the cops for help himself. He explained to the 911 operator that he seemed to be stuck in the hot tub for at least ten hours because there were no towels around. When asked if he needed any medical assistance he replied, " No all i need is a hug, and a cup of hot chocolate with some marshmellows in it". No this man was not drunk, but he turned out to be a homeless man who trespassed into a hot tube. He was arrested for trespassing and improper use of 911. :)

Enemy of The State

This fall will be an important season for the video game industry. It will be the first time the Industry will go as the defendant at the biggest court in the land. The U.S. Supreme court will take on video game legislation restricting any sales of video games to minors. The California bill demands that any violent video games be marked with two inch square label on the front of the box and that minors purchasing them would face up to a $1000 fine. The law eschews the ESRB rating system which already marks its violent video games with a rating of M for mature audiences only and demands a description of what is exactly possible in the game. In accordance with the bill " a game falls under this law if a reasonable person, considering the game as a whole, would find it appeals to a deviant or morbid interest to minors and it is partially offensive to prevailing standards in the community as to what is suitable for minors or it cause the game, as a whole to lack serious literary, artistic, or scientific value for minors."
In other words a law is basically telling us it is illegal to sell a violent video game to a minor(16 and under) or in any way blocks creativity, reading, politics, or science to a minor. Ahem, since when every video game have to be math blaster or Dora The Explorer? to me, as a gamer, this law sounds redundant, The ESRB is already doing its job. It would also complicate any relationships between publishers, retailers and customers. no retailer wants to be scared to sell a game because he's afraid of ending up behind bars. This law a;ready breaks the rights guaranteed by the first amendment, and above all its going to piss a lot of people off. Any one out their in accordance with the defendant?

During these events, four guards were injured.

Shortage of Drugs delays Executions in the U.S.

In thirty five states in the U.S. that rely on lethal injection for executions their is a shortage of a drug called sodium thiopental which is used to put the inmate unconsious. 33 states use it in a three drug combination and mainly rely on this drug for the execution and two states such as Ohio and Washington use this drug to deliver one large dose to the inmate. The company that produces this drug which is called Hospira Inc. says that the reason they can't supply the drug is because their are raw material supplier issues and they can not recieve the drug from outside the U.S. because their aren't any FDA approved manufactures's over seas.Since the drug is currently unavailable it has delayed an execution in Oklahoma, has made a governor in one state postpone to sign two death warrants for inmates and will also probably delay an execution in Arizona which is scheduled in late October. Hospira Inc. said that the drug will probably not be available until January 2011. Between now and that point their are a total of 17 executions which are scheduled to happen in 9 states. This I believe is a matter in which the company should produce the drug as soon as possible and available to the states so that the executions are on schedule and dont have to move the time and date until later on and this is all done quick.

American HIV Problem!

I bet when you think of the amount of people receiving sexually transmitted diseases increasing, you think of how all these raging men and women need to calm down. However would you have guessed that Americas gay population is increasing these numbers, the worst part is that 44% of these people don't even know they have STD's. Data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) inform us that 1 in 5 sexually active gay or bisexual man is HIV positive. Also surprisingly, men from 30 to 39 are the ones with the highest number of infections.

Whether it is gay people or not, CDC estimates that over 1 million people are HIV positive, while only 21% of these people know it. Hopefully we can find a way to help people become more aware of STD's and how to prevent them because the numbers are only getting higher.

Florida Man Murders Wife, Stepchildren, Self; Spares Own Kids

In RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. A man shot and killed his wife and four of his stepchildren and then killed himself, but he spared his two biological children. There were 7 children in the house when Patrick Dell his wife and her four children. A 15 year old is recovering in the hospital and two of his biological kids were with relatives. He had a restraining order against his wife and was getting a divorce. He had already tried to kill his wife before but failed to do so. Dells two biological children were lucky to have been with relatives because if they would have been there they would probably be dead.

Never Lose Hope

21 years ago Kimberly Norwood went missing. At the time she was 12 years old and would to this day be 34 years old. No one knows where or how she went missing. For years, her parents were puzzled, they weren't exactly wealthy, and they desperatly awaited a ransom call that never came. Since their daughter has dissppeared they have still overcome some major hardships. For example; Janice, the mother had breast cancer AND a heart attack, her father had a heart attack as well a stroke, AND underwent quadruple bypass. As you can see, their life hasn't been a nice stroll in the park. But through it all, they never lose hope, they still insist that Kimberly WILL be turning 34, implying that they believe that she's still alive and out there somewhere. This story has made top news many times throughout the past 21 years and I'm sure they're never going to lose hope. I got this from CNN, the website url: http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/9/27/grace.coldcases/index.html?npt=NP1.

Suspect Nabbed in Seton Hall Murder Case

A suspect was arrested in a raid on an East Orange home Monday night as part of the investigation into the shooting death of Seton Hall University student Jessica Moore early Saturday morning.

A source told NBCNewYork that the arrest wuz made on the same street where the off-campus party was being held when Moore was shot. The 19-year-old student died the next day from her injuries.

"He's definitely the shooter," a law-enforcement source said of the suspect who was taken away within minutes after police raided the house.

As police and several people who had been at the party described, the suspect had tried to crash a party just after midnight Saturday but was hustled out the door.

He went to a buddy on the sidewalk, said "Give me the banger" and then went back inside and opened fire.

In addition to Moore, 4 others were hit by gunfire, though none critical.

Two of the injured are 19-year-old women who go to Seton Hall, and one is a 25-year-old man who attends the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The other is a 20-year-old man from New York who is not a student.

Lawmen say they expect to arrest another person being questioned as well.

Airlines

The Airline industry has been a industry that has met its standards and has not been that much of a powerhouse. Now the airline industry has boosted its position by acquiring AirTran for 1.42 billion dollars. This deal will let South West Airlines enter 37 new cities like Atlanta, New York, and Boston. The AirTran deal is a airline merger that will combine United Airlines and Continental. The new airline will have Untied's name and Continental's logo and will be the world's largest air carrier. Also this new airline will not have bag fee's like the other airlines. Since they combined the two airlines they have no need of charging for bags. As the other leading airlines charge $20 for the first bag and $25 for the second.

I think that this new deal merging the two airlines is a good thing for transport around the world. It will be an honest airline that makes enough from the people buying their tickets than robbing people hundreds of millions of dollars like the other airlines do for baggage. I believe that this airline will be a force to be reckoned with and could help people as much as the economy.

Murdering for fun??

Despite all the prescription drugs a soldier in iraq was taking he videotaped a statement describing how he and his fellow soldiers were randomly killed three Afghan civilians! An investigator testified Monday at a hearing that it is one of the most serious war-crimes cases to come from the Afghan war. Capitan Jeremy Morlock of Wasilla, Alaska, is one of the five soldiers charged with premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit premeditated murder. In the interviews with Army investigators, he said it was the idea of Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs to randomly kill civilians while on patrol in Kandahar Province. They have collected souvenir of the corpses and are even taking pictures with them! The lawyers are saying that it was because of all the trauma they face at war and that it is getting to them. If they are charged guilty then they will and could be facing the death penalty if convicted.Do you think that they should be convicted or let go because they might have a mental condition?

Boston Beer Act?

Today alcohol is the 3rd leading cause of preventable death in the United States. It also contributes to car crashes, suicide, and homicides. So how does our government prevent this type of abuse? More taxes! Yes, double the taxes will add up almost 50 cents a six pack. In my opinion this would be a great idea. Yes 50 cents isn't much but it will make a difference. Instead of Whites dressed as Indians tossing tea over board, We will have crazy drunks robbing every circle k they see stocking up on brew. Hopefully they ll get the picture and buy a water instead. This is a good step towards a safer place to live in.

First the SB1070 racism argument, now there are racist billboards???

Paul Babeu, the Pinal County Sheriff told Fox news this suday that he is willing to meet with the owner of a billboard displaying a picture of a hispanic family with a quote by Babeu stating "This is our most serious public safety issue and a national security threat to America." Babeu stated that the billboard slandered him and law enforcement. The owner of the billboard, Frank Pierson, stated that he posted the billboard of the family next to the quote because he wants citizens to "Step up" and tell congress to enforce immigration laws. Pierson also stated that he posted the image to show that millions of illegal immigrants are not in the United States to do harm to its citizens.
Babeu stated, "I find it to be highly inappropriate and blantantly false to put my quote there with a picture of a very innocent and obviously Hispanic family."

Babeu concluded that by casting a racial pall over the border security issue is to do a disservice to national security and law enforcement.

I personally could not believe someone would even think to post a quote like that next to a picture of any minority family.
What do you guys think about the billboard???

America's Losing Science Brain Power Advantage?

American students have continued to perform poorly in science and technology compared to counterparts aboard claimed the Capitol Hill report. Still the U.S is the leader but other countries like China are investing more money on education and research and stepping up their competitiveness. This is bad for the U.S because the health of the U.S. economy and creation of new jobs depend on innovations. The report, "Rising Above the Gathering Storm", outlined the main problem why test scores are so low on those subjects are due to stagnated federal research funding and a dysfunctional education system. People need to encourage students to go into fields like science or engineering. A new report said that the importance of education needs to be stressed. The only way to solve this, is for schools to improve their science departments and this is hard to do because schools have a limited budget. I guess we will be importing more technology from China and other countries in the future unless the government gives more grants to schools in order to make the needed improvements.

Montana Woman defends herself from a bear with a Zucchini!

A Montana woman fought off a bear trying to muscle its way into her home Thursday by striking the animal with a large piece of zucchini from her garden. The woman suffered minor scratches and one of her dogs was wounded after battling with the 200-pound bear. The attack happened just after midnight when the woman let her three dogs into the backyard for their nighttime ritual before she headed to bed. Authorities believe the black bear was just 25 yards away, eating apples from a tree. Two of the dogs sensed the bear, began barking and ran away. The third dog, a 12-year-old collie that wasn't very mobile, remained close to the woman as she stood in the doorway of the home near Frenchtown in western Montana. Before she knew what was happening, the bear was on top of the dog and batting the collie back and forth, Maricelli said."She kicked the bear with her left leg as hard as she could, and she said she felt like she caught it pretty solidly under the chin,".But as she kicked, the bear swiped at her leg with its paw and ripped her jeans. The bear then turned its full attention to the woman in the doorway. She retreated into the house and tried to close the door, but the bear stuck its head and part of a shoulder through the doorway. The woman held onto the door with her right hand. With her left, she reached behind and grabbed a 14-inch zucchini that she had picked from her garden earlier and was sitting on the kitchen counter. She threw the vegetable. It bopped the bear on the top of its head and the animal fled. The woman called for help from a relative staying with her. They found the collie outside, unable to move, and took it to a veterinarian. The dog appeared to be fine on Thursday, but the vet was keeping it for observation. The woman did not need medical attention for the scratches on her leg, though she got a tetanus shot as a precaution.Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials set up a trap in an attempt to capture the bear, the agency said in a statement.Besides the nearby fruit trees, there wasn't anything on the woman's property that would attract a bear into the backyard, like garbage or livestock feed, wildlife officials said. Its unbelievable that a 14- inch zucchini saved her life from a bear, what do you guys think?

Go away you creep! BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG!(thud)

In East Orange, New Jersey, a man shot 5 students at an apartment near Seton Hall University for not inviting him to their private party. So, the man leaves, then in no time he was back and shot at the guests. Of the five shot, one named Jessica Moore wasn't so lucky. She died at the hospital at 3:20 P.M. today just 15 hours after the shooting. Witnesses said that no one knew who the gunman was and why did he go, all they know is that he came, he shot, and he left. Her slayer is still at large and is armed and dangerous. Police have a reward for any leads towards his arrest.

I think that this a recurring theme, I mean a guy shows up to your party, uninvited of course, then comes back and shoots your guests. It's happened before (the shooting part). Remember Virginia Tech, some random guy starts shooting randomly at students and manages to kill many including himself. Now let's go close to home, at the UofA, a student showed up to class and shot three teachers and himself in 2002. As shown above the most outrageous shootings happen at colleges.

Anyone agree?

Police: Washington State Woman Made Up Acid Attack Story

Remember I had told you guys about a lady named Bethany Storro who was allegedly attacked by an African American woman with acid? Well it turns out that Storro had poured the acid on HERSELF.

Seventeen days after she was “attacked”, Bethany confessed that her injuries were self-inflicted and that the events described before were made-up. She said that she had actually bought drain cleaner and went to a public restroom where she used gloves and towels to apply the drain cleaner to her face. She did not confess why she did it, and her parents said that even they had not sensed any kind of trouble before the incident. The Vancouver police had spent hundreds of hours looking for the suspect, who was described by Storro to be an African American woman, only to find out that their time had been wasted. The community of Vancouver had also united and raised donations for Bethany’s medical expenses. They had raised around $25,000 for Bethany which she used later to buy things such as clothes, dinners, and train tickets. She is now being charged with three counts of 2nd degree theft. Even though her motive is not yet known, I believe that her motive was obviously to quickly gain some money.

At first, I had felt sorry for Bethany Storro when I read the article describing her being attacked. Now I think she is simply PATHETIC. Yes, it is sad that you have to pour acid on yourself to get some money from donations, but haven’t you ever heard of a JOB? I mean come on, there are many other options available in order to earn some money. Leeching off other people’s sympathy is just sick. I don’t have any sympathy at all for Bethany. In fact, I have more sympathy for the people who donated their money than I have towards Bethany. She clearly had planned it out and she ended up getting what she deserved. Oh yeah and on top of all that, there is a high possibility that she could have inspired the crazy person who had ACTUALLY attacked a woman in Arizona with acid. Bethany Storro is just one example of the many sick people in our world.

What do you guys think?

Where's our freedom?

During 1733, John peter Zenger began to write against the governor of New York; referring to him as a monkey, and basically making a fool out of him publicly. Naturally, the governor was appalled and had a lawsuit filed against Zenger. Soon after, Zenger was arrested, and later won the case. Thereafter, Freedom of Speech was born. It's basically the right to say whatever it is you want to say, in almost wherever it is you want to say it. Although we've had this for quite some time now, it doesn't necessarily mean it's been followed. In recent years, because of the "War of Terror", I feel like that right has been restricted. Our government has made our news providers to say only what the government wants us to know, basically whatever is to their convenience. So what I ask is, where is our freedom of the press? Why has a lot of information been intently kept from reaching us?

Freedom of the Press - John Peter Zenger!

Greetings everyone!

In addition to reading Chapter 3 of the American Nation textbook for homework, I need for you to read the short article provided in THIS LINK.

http://www.earlyamerica.com/earlyamerica/bookmarks/zenger/
This article deals with John Peter Zenger who, you may recall, published articles comparing the governor of New York to a monkey resulting in the closure of his printing press. The ensuing lawsuit established freedom of the press in the 13 colonies that would form the original 13 US States.

For the last part of this week's blog assignment, it is your mission to:

1. Read the short article

2. Freedom of the Press: El Diario, los narcos, and a community in fear

La Jornada: Truce between Journalists and Narcos?
A lot of you have commented on the issue of drug violence and the Mexican press's response to this through self-censorship. For those of you who wish to discuss this in your comments, check out this article from the UNAM's newspaper, La Jornada.

Final note - those of you who do not publish your posts by 11:59PM tonight (Monday) will lose 50% of your grade for this assignment if you publish after that time.
I believe that it was Zenger's right to publish his newspaper about the governor. It was his true opinion and Zenger should be applauded for bringing the light to the governor's true colors. I believe all that Zenger did was exercise his rights. His rights of freedom of speech of course. Society today has really been influenced by Zenger's fight for freedom of speech and to this day, that is one right that all Americans practice.

Freedom of the press

In 1733 John Peter Zenger stated publishing a news paper to voice to the onerous policies of newly appointed colonial Governor William Cosby. Supported by his member Zenger kept printing articles critical of the royal Governor. finally, Cosby issued proclamation commending the news paper's scandalous, false and seditious reflections. On November 17, 1734 Zenger was arrested and charged with seditious libel. Zenger wen to trial after eight months in prison. he was defended by illustrious Philadelphia lawyer Andrew Hamilton. after being rebuffed repeatedly by chief Justice Delaney during the trial, Hamilton decided to plead his clients case directly to the jury. After an augment of both sides a verdict was made that John Peter Zenger was not guilt. This has become part of the Constitution that as long as it is not proven false the press have freedom to write about it, this is also known as freedom of the press.

I personally think that freedom of the press is a good thing as long as their are some boundaries. People deserve to know the truth and to speak their minds but there are some limits we have to respect being considerate of peoples privacy.

Freedom of the Press

Freedom of the Press was one of the first ammendments to the U.S. Constitution. This was eventually going to become part of the Constitution, but was set forth by an interesting story. William Cosby, the newly appointed governor, began issuing policies and orders contrary to what a just governor should do. He abused of his power and a man named John Peter Zenger decided to point this out to the public. Zenger began publishing a newspaper called the New York Journal that began critisizing and opposing the injust policies of the new governor. Unsurprisingly, he was arrested by the governor. However, later on, he took his case to court and was found not to be guilty. Later, the leaders of the revolution took this into account and decided to make an ammendment of the Constitution allowing the press and media to write anything they wished. This became Freedom of the Press.

I personally think this is hilarious. The fact that a leader abusing of his power getting it all thrown back in his face is pleasing. The governor got what he deserved but I would very much like to know what happened to this crazy governor and I would also like to know what became of Zenger. Did they get eaten by bears? Anywho, John Peter Zenger paved the way for an ammendment that became of much use and influence in the many many decades to come.

Freedom of the Press

In 1733(or 1734), John Peter Zenger began a newspaper in New York to voice opposition to policies appointed by the colonial governor William Cosby. Upon his arrival in the colony, Cosby immediately began arguing with the colony about his salary. Zenger's New-York Weekly JOURNAL continued to publish articles that criticized the new governor, especially after he replaced the Supreme Court Chief Justice Lewis Morris with James Delancey, a member of the royal party. After being insluted, Cosby issued a proclamation condemning the newspaper's "divers scandalous, virulent, false and stedious reflections." Because of this Zenger was arrested in November of 1734 and went to trial eight months after being charged with seditious libel. He was defended by Andrew Hamilton, who directed his case directly to the jury. Zenger was found not guilty.

An example of freedom of the press is: The case of Near vs. Minnesota
In this case a newspaper criticized local officials in Minnesota. A state law existed in which authorities were allowed to close down any " malicious, scandalous, and defamatory newspaper." The state ended up using this law to enjoin the newspaper.
Later, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Near. The Court found the injunction on the newspaper to be an "unconstitutional infringement of free speech". If false accusations appear in a newspaper, the proper remedy is a libel action.
This is a case in which freedom of the press won, showing that we do have more rights that we did 200+ years ago.

Freedom of the press

John Peter Zenger published a newspaper in New York to voice opposition to the onerous policies of newly appointed colonial governor William Cosby in the year 1773. Supported by many of the members of the popular party, Zenger's New-York newspaper continued to publish articles critical of William Cosby. Cosby didn’t like it and he issued a proclamation condemning the newspaper's "divers scandalous, virulent, false and seditious reflections." On Sunday, November 17, 1734 Zenger was arrested and charged with seditious libel. Andrew Hamilton defended Zenger after about 8 months of being in prison. After a short time the jury decided that Zenger was not guilty. The truth is an absolute defense against libel.

I believe that today there is freedom of the press, but not exactly everywhere. Like for example all the bad things that are happening in Mexico. I believe there is no freedom of the press in Mexico because many bad things happen and yet they are not published in the newspaper. Rumors are heard that the newspapers are threatened to not publish everything that is going on.
