Craigslist Pulls The Plug On Adult Ads

Craigslist, the website that allows free advertisements, sales, jobs, etc made a dramatic change this weekend due to its controversial section Adult Services. Craigslist has been taking substantial amounts of heat due to its offers and advertisements for prostitution. However, this past weekend Craigslist removed the Adult Services link and replaced it with "Censored" box that leads you nowhere. Human Rights services is thankful for its removable and that it will help save many little girls from assaults and rape. Similar fire came from the Attorney Generals in 33 states filed a joint letter demanding the removal of the adult services section. They believe that craigslist is operating a " Red light District" and compares it too Time Square in the 1970's.It also took some major fire when the "Craigslist Killer" was arrested. The "Craigslist Killer" would attack women who posted adult ads on the site. He was charged with murder and later killed himself in his cell. From then on Craigslist vowed they would crackdown on sex ads, but did so in a sloppy manner.

Many people say craigslist should be held accountable, but it has made million of dollars of these types of ads. For now, the section has been removed. As for me, I believe it will come back. It must be looked at from a business stand point. If they aren't breaking the law they keep doing it. with that said what do you think. Will it Stay?. Only time will tell.

  1. Wow.. who knew adult ad's could be so dangerous. haha just kidding. :p I think Craigslist should keep the ads off, no matter how much money they bring in. By the restoration of the ads, Craigslist is begging to get sued.

  2. Craigslist isn't the only culprit in this. Several print newspapers have been pushing some form of these ads too. Respecting free speech, I hope that civil society can manage to come up with a way limit some of these ads; if for nothing else, to help curb human smuggling operations.
