Holy Book could stir more problems if burned

I read an article on cnn about how a church in florida plans to burn copies of the Muslim holy book the Quran. The Dove Outreach center in Gainesville Florida plans to do this to mark the anniversary the Al-Qaeda attacks on September 11, 2001.Many people fear that this will cause more problems overseas for American troops. The U.S. commander in Afghanistan said that if the church decides to go on with the plan that it could endanger the troops and the effort that they are putting in afghanistan. The plan has brought much controversy as well to many muslims not only in the U.S. but around the world and many say its an insult not only to the holy book but also to muslims all over the world.Even though the church says it's doing it for certain reasons many others such as people in the U.S. say that if this is done it could have second and third order effects brought out worldwide. I think this being done on September 11 is not only wrong but it should be a day to remember those that died nine years ago.

  2. This "church" in Florida has been getting a lot of attention lately for publicizing this event. They claim to be doing this because of the interest in building an Islamic community in New York near the WTC site. I find it ironic that the representatives of a religion of peace would show their disapproval of what they consider a "religion of hate" by burning that faith's holy book and flipping a big bird at the 1 billion Muslims in the world. Not exactly "turn the other cheek" here. :(

  3. oh hey i just saw this one the news like two seconds ago.. i can't believe they're trying to do that. Like Mr. Parra said, it is ery ironic and well i think it is just wrong. Like that one quote says, "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"

  4. Wow.. I hadn't heard of this until right now that I read it. It actually made me kind of mad. It's disgusting. Imagine how church officials would feel if some Muslims in Afghanistan decided to burn the Bible. :S Ugh. I just hate when people are so ignorant and inconsiderate of others like that. I'm gonna use my catch phrase: That's bullshit.
